It’s just what the Palace feared: The Afghan Taliban said Monday it’s doing everything in its power to try to kidnap or assassinate Prince Harry, who arrived in Afghanistan last week for his second tour of duty in the war-torn country.

Fresh off his infamous naked Vegas romp, the 27-year-old royal arrived in Afghanistan last Friday for a four-month combat tour, which will see him piloting Apache attack helicopters.

Harry — known as Captain Wales by his fellow soldiers — will be based out of Camp Bastion in the Helmand province, where he will be on the front line in the NATO-led war against Taliban insurgents.

“We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location Monday.

“We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him,” Mujahid added, declining to go into detail on what he dubbed the “Harry operations”.

This is Harry’s second tour of duty to Afghanistan; he first served in Afghanistan in 2008 as an on-ground air controller, but his tour was cut short when word broke of his location and therefore compromised his security.

‘Forrest Gump’ As Directed By Wes Anderson Is Perfect (Video)

Wes Anderson, he’s so hot right now. It seems the new wave of parodies for the time being is everything Wes Anderson (don’t worry, “Frozen” parodies aren’t going anywhere). We saw the “Zoolander” scene a few days ago inspired by Anderson, and a few weeks before that we saw a beautiful compilation of his symmetry. Now, […]

Singularity At The Cinema: ‘Transcendence,’ ‘Her’ And Fighting Against The Future

“Transcendence” isn’t a very good movie. It has the setup to be a thought-provoking, sci-fi, action flick, without any real action or thought of which to speak. It’s essentially the last 20 minutes of “Her,” spread glacially over a two-hour-and-twenty-minute run time. The biggest problem with “Transcendence,” however, is that it foregrounds and obsesses over its technology at the […]

Then And Now: How 2014′s Kentucky Wildcats Are Topping Michigan’s Fab Five Of 1992

Even if there’s good reason to do so, it feels borderline sacrilegious to compare John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats to the Fab Five freshmen of Michigan University’s 1991-92 men’s basketball team. After all, the phenomenal group of first-year students that descended upon Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus in the Fall of ’91 was the first of its […]

Man Kills Wife After Asking Google If It’s Okay To Kill His Wife

Google needs to update its search functions so that when someone asks whether it’s alright to commit a murder, he will be simply be greeted with a big fat NO. Britain’s David Connaughton turned to the search engine while contemplating how to end his marital troubles, and it looks like an inconclusive answer may be […]

First Crimea, Now Venice: Will Scotland And Catalonia Also Join The Fight For Independence?

The recent referendum in Crimea and the subsequent annexation of the peninsula by Russia has captured much of world’s attention, which has incidentally ignited discussions about secessionism in Europe. On September 18, 2014, Scotland will vote on whether or not to become independent from the United Kingdom. Moreover, as Graham Avery notes in a recent article for the Scottish […]
