Tom Hanks' Rapper Son Says He'll Use The 'N-Word' Whenever He Wants

by Adam Pliskin

Chet Hanks is Tom Hanks' 24-year-old son.

He's a Northwestern University graduate and an aspiring rapper who goes by the name Chet Haze.

Chet also seems to have a thing for using the "N-word." He uses the word quite a bit on Instagram, and people started to take issue with it.

Thus, Chet recorded an Instagram video explaining his reasoning for using the word so much.

In the video, he said,

Look, I know the majority of y'all are not going to get this because the history is still so fresh in our country. But hip-hop isn't about race -- it's about the culture you identify with. Can't no one tell me what I can't say.

Hanks also included a lengthy caption alongside the video to further his logic.

In the caption he wrote,

The way I see it, it's a word that unifies the culture of HIP-HOP across ALL RACES, which is actually kind of a beautiful thing. It's a word that can be used out of camaraderie and love, not just exclusively for black people.

Not sure if I agree with you there, Chet.

Check out the video below, and form your own opinion.

Update: Chet since deleted his Instagram account.
