Tyson And Holyfield Meet Again!
If you were expecting hooks, jabs, and uppercuts when Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield reunited…you would be sadly mistaken!
Tyson stopped by Jewel-Osco in Chicago to see his old friend. Holyfield was promoting his new line of barbecue sauce and signing autographs, while Tyson was in Chicago performing his one-man show, Undisputed Truth.
There was no ill will between the two legendary boxers who formally made up on Oprah back in 2009.
“We’re both at a stage in our lives where we can work together and make really a good thing happen,” Tyson told the Associated Press. “He’s a beautiful person. I’ve known Evander since I was 15.”
Tyson’s one-man show — directed by Spike Lee — documents the fighter’s entire life. After a run on Broadway and in Las Vegas, Tyson is taking his show on a 10-week tour.
Holyfield still has dreams of putting the gloves back on…but he’s holding out to to face the best of the best….the Klitschko brothers.
“Now that it’s confirmed that the Klitschkos really don’t want to do it, that’s it,” Holyfield said. “I’m not trying to go back and fight someone 24, 25. But the Klitschkos being 37, 38, that’s my age.”
Tyson and Holyfield faced each other twice. Holyfield won the first match in a TKO and the second in a disqualification after Tyson bit both of his ears.
