Victoria Beckham Talking About ‘Soulmate' David Beckham Will Melt Your Heart
Hollywood breakups are so common, it's almost more of a scandal when a couple stays together.
I SAID ALMOST, JESUS CHRIST.
The former Spice Girl and current style mogul visited “Today” and told host Savannah Guthrie,
I'm lucky that David is the most fantastic father and husband, and he's great. We're very equal at home, and we're a really, really good team… He's the most incredible husband, fantastic father. He inspires me every day. Not just seeing him with the children and how he treats me. It just works. We're lucky to have each other.
Over 18 years of marriage haven't shaken Vic's certainty David is her “soulmate,” and her pro-athlete hub feels the same way.
In February, David told BBC Radio listeners,
Of course you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times. It's about working through it. We know each other better than anybody. People have talked about, ‘Do we stay together because it's a brand?' Of course not. We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children.
I must be getting old or some other gross affliction because hearing happily married couples gush about the beautiful lives they share is suddenly giving me the same warm feeling I used to get when I heard comped shots were on the horizon at a college dive bar.
If you're in an especially Nicholas Sparks-y mood, check out Victoria's letter to her 18-year-old self for British Vogue, in which she shares her first impressions of David.
She tells her past self,
He's not even in the first team at this stage — you are the famous one. And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you. He's going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)
WE GET IT, ALREADY!
But, yeah, the world weeps for your perfect union.
