Zayn Finally Breaks His Silence, Says 'I Feel Good' About Leaving 1D

by Adam Pliskin

This is the moment we've all been waiting for, people. Zayn Malik has finally broken his silence.

Zayn opened up to The Sun about his decision to leave One Direction.

It seems as if Zayn is pretty content with the decision that left many fans, and even Harry Styles, in emotional ruin.

Zayn said,

It is crazy and wild and a bit mad but at the same time I've never felt more in control in my life.

Thus far, Zayn doesn't seem to regret his decision to abandon the British pop group. Though, he does feel for his heartbroken fans.

He said,

And I feel like I'm doing what's right — right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good. You know, I did try to do something that I wasn't happy doing for a while, for the sake of maybe other people's happiness. And that was mainly the fans. And I only ever tried to do it for the fans, and it was only ever for them. And basically, I'm only upset (because) I feel like I may have let them down in some sort of way.

Zayn also went on to say that his decision wasn't at all motivated by internal band conflict.

In fact, he claimed his former bandmates have been super supportive of his choice to walk away.

He said,

My band has been really supportive. They've been really cool about it. And they understand that, you know, it's not real to me anymore.

There you have it. Zayn is no longer in One Direction, and he seems quite happy about it. I think it's time for us all to obsess about something else now. Don't you?
