Chris Evans, Kit Harington And Other Celebs Perform Touching Prince Tribute
The late, great Prince would have turned 58 today, and the world is both celebrating and mourning the musical legend on his birthday.
TIDAL, for instance, is honoring the icon by streaming 15 of his albums today.
Additionally, in a video for W Magazine, 12 celebrities performed their favorite Prince songs to celebrate The Purple One's special day.
The video includes performances from Kit Harington, Ethan Hawke, Cindy Crawford, Chris Evans, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Rami Malek, Elle Fanning, Nate Parker, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tye Sheridan, Melissa Benoist and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Everyone put their own unique spin on Prince's hits — Chris Evans and Ethan Hawke really went for those high notes on "Diamonds and Pearls" and "Money Don't Matter," and Rami Malek read off "Kiss" lyrics as if he was leaving a sexy voicemail.
It's funny, sweet and more than a little bit emotional.
I have no doubt somewhere Prince is laughing at all these celebs' interesting takes on his classics. But, like, in a fond way.
Happy birthday Prince, and RIP.
