Disney Is Bringing 'Lion King' Villain Scar Back From The Dead, So Be Prepared

If you have seen The Lion King, then you know Scar is one of the most vile, disgraceful, and evil characters to ever make his way onto our movie and TV screens. (If you haven't seen The Lion King, then what are you doing here? GO WATCH NOW.) That being said, perhaps one of the most validating moments of any '90s kid's childhood was watching the malevolent monster be attacked and killed by his tribe of "loyal" hyenas (seriously, it's up there with watching Meredith wake up on an air mattress in the middle of a lake in The Parent Trap). Well, be prepared, folks, because Scar from The Lion King is being resurrected and, though it's been over 20 years, I'm not quite sure I'm ready for more of his f*ckery.

It seems as if the Disney Junior show The Lion Guard is bringing Scar back from the dead in the form of flames that emit from a volcano. Naturally, according to a video posted by BuzzFeed Entertainment, Scar is not at all interested in apologizing for his heinous actions in the 1994 film; instead, he's coming back to continue his attempts to break the ever-important Circle of Life and I, for one, am anxious as hell about it.

This time around the plot revolves around Simba's son, Kion, who accidentally brings Scar (Scar's spirit?) back to life via volcanic flames. The villain himself admits, though, he is "much more than a volcano," and David Oyelowo, who voices the "new" Scar assures us he is still a "menacing character." I just hope Kion and the new gang don't fall for Scar's sneaky-ass tricks and false sincerity.

And, for those of you who were wondering whether or not Scar will get to sing in The Lion Guard, you're in luck: It looks as if the vindictive lion will have a follow-up to his iconic song "Be Prepared" called "I Have A Plan" when he appears in an episode titled "The Rise of Scar" set to air on Disney Channel on Jul. 29 at 9:00 a.m.

I guess all we can do between now and then is try to block the trauma of Scar from our minds by listening to "Hakuna Matata" on repeat.
