There’s Going To Be An All-Female Reboot Of ‘Ghostbusters’
There’s something strange in the neighborhood. It’s an all-female reboot of “Ghostbusters.” Paul Feig, director of “Bridesmaids,” has been tapped to direct the new iteration of the 80s comedy classic.
Dan Aykroyd had been trying to get “Ghostbusters 3″ made for a long time now, but this film will be its own remake, essentially starting the franchise over from scratch.
That’s not to say that Aykroyd and Bill Murray won’t be making cameos, but the film won’t focus on Venkman or Stantz.
If you recall, Harold Ramis, the third of the Ghostbusters trio, passed away earlier this year, which definitely threw a wrench in Ayrokyd’s original plan for a sequel.
There’s no word yet on the cast for this one. But if Feig’s involved, there’s a good chance that Melissa McCarthy may be as well. It would also be cool to see Kristen Wiig team up with her “Bridesmaids” director for this one.
Regardless of who stars in this one, it’s good to see a fresh take on an old classic. Especially since it places women at the forefront of what will surely be a major film.
Who would you like to see as the female Ghostbusters?
