‘The Hobbit’ Earns $233 Million Worldwide In Opening Weekend

‘The Hobbit’ has set yet another record only a day after surpassing 2007’s ‘I Am Legend’ for the largest Friday box office haul in the month of December!

According to Deadline, the film has shattered the record for biggest December opening ever, with $84.7 million earned nationwide and $138.2 million earned internationally.

The total worldwide earnings add up to a staggering $233 million – a number that’s only expected to rise in the coming weeks. If numbers don’t do anything for you,  the film has also received an ‘A’ CinemaScore from viewers!
