It's no secret the Hadid family has been dealing with its fair share of health issues. Not too long ago, Yolanda Hadid talked about her struggles with the tick-borne illness, Lyme disease.

During interviews, Yolanda revealed both her daughter Bella and son Anwar are also dealing with the same disease.

However, Lyme disease isn't the only condition that's plaguing this famous family.

Yolanda's other daughter, Gigi Hadid, just opened up about the autoimmune disease she's been silently coping with for the past few years.

Gigi recently told Elle,

My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto's disease. It's a thyroid disease.

During her interview with the fashion magazine, the 21-year-old supermodel revealed how the disease has been impacting her modeling career. She said,

It's now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the [Victoria's Secret] show I didn't want to lose any more weight. I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that's good.

Apparently, Hashimoto's disease is a lot more common than you might think.

In fact, it has been reported a lot of celebrities including Gina Rodriguez, Nia Vardalos, Zoe Saldana and Victoria Justice also deal with this particular thyroid disease.

Despite her struggles with the condition, Hadid managed to snag the British Fashion Council's Model of the Year Award, which commended the young model for her flawlessly toned physique.

When Hadid isn't strutting her stuff on the runway or posing for magazine covers, you can normally find her taking measures to manage her condition.

Apparently, Hadid wards off some of the weight loss induced by Hashimoto's disease by hitting the gym regularly and including spontaneous exercises in her gym sessions.

Hadid also shared some of her tips for dealing with the disease.

I put a sticky note in my kitchen that just said 'squats' and every time I walked passed the squat sticky note I had to do 15 squats. It's a good trick because you have to have integrity with yourself. No one else is watching, but you're like, 'Okay, I have to do this for myself,' which is important.

So, yeah: It might not be a bad idea to stock up on sticky notes if you want a runway-ready body.
