James Corden And Jimmy Kimmel's 'Carpool Karaoke' Won The Emmys

by Taylor Ortega

No one asked to see James Corden and Jimmy Kimmel dressed as two beautiful George Michaels, bopping along to Wham!'s "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," and yet that's all America needed tonight.

The late night hosts kicked off Kimmel's Emmy hosting duties with a "Carpool Karaoke" session honoring the segment's first-ever guest, George Michael.

Honestly, this was THE wig for James Corden.

Everyone loved the commitment to '80s excellence.

The bizarre Jeb Bush cameo didn't hurt, either.

The night rolled along (and continues to do so) with major wins, emotional speeches and the magical charisma of Leslie Jones, and yet the image of Jimmy and James bopping their way across our screens in tiny hoop earrings is already nestled safely in our hearts and minds.

For the remainder of the 2016 Emmys ceremony, as commercials for the Amanda Knox documentary send chills down our spines, we'll have this spectacular opening to revisit.

Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden, you are officially our happy place.

Thank you so, so much and congratulations so, so, so, so, so much.

Love,

America
