JK Rowling Just Revealed Something Crazy About Harry Potter's Son

It’s a big day for the Potter family.

September 1 marks the annual day adolescent witches and wizards from Durmstrang to Beauxbatons have to deal with the magical back-to-school blues.

This year’s newest Hogwarts class features one special wizard, in particular, looking to carve a name for himself in the Wizarding World’s most hallowed halls.

I’m talking of course about James S. Potter.

According to a tweet posted by JK Rowling, James, the son of Harry Potter, is set to cross the magical threshold at Platform 9 ¾ this morning before boarding the Hogwarts Express.

Rowling tweeted although she was in Edinburgh, she wishes she was at King’s Cross to take part of this occasion.

I'm in Edinburgh, so could somebody at King's Cross wish James S Potter good luck for me? He's starting at Hogwarts today. #BackToHogwarts — J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 1, 2015

Rowling responded to fans who joked they were on the train with James.

Thanks! Say 'hi' back, but only if it won't interrupt any burgeoning friendships. https://t.co/Al54tGHvWK — J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 1, 2015
Now worried that he'll be irritated by the number of people saying hi. https://t.co/6keaEOsKS0 — J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 1, 2015

Twitter as a whole seems to be mixed with people encouraging James and getting emotional about the whole situation.

Good luck to James Potter starting Hogwarts today! — My name is [Emily] (@ek_wheeler) September 1, 2015

HARRY JAMES POTTER'S FIRST SON STARTS HIS FIRST YEAR AT HOGWARTS TODAY WHATT HE FUKCK — molly (@jaemspotters) September 1, 2015

This is a weird thought, but Rowling implies in her second tweet James is now going to have to deal with the fact that he’s the son of the Wizarding World’s most popular person.

This essentially makes James the Jaden Smith of magic.

I hope fame doesn’t go to James’ head and he starts tweeting -- or doing whatever the magical equivalent of tweeting -- his takes on spirituality and the cosmos.
