Justin Timberlake Has Best Response To Kanye Saying He Cried At Grammys

by Eitan Levine

This will hopefully answer at least one of the 400 questions you have about Kanye West's bizarre presidential campaign announcement speech during the VMAs on Sunday night.

Whether you're ready for it or not, Kanye 2020 is a thing we will all have to cope with.

The pop culture giant announced his plans to run for president of these great United States last night at the VMAs while accepting a Video Vanguard Award in a speech that can really only be classified as purely West-ian.

During the announcement, after referencing his “Imma let you finish...” incident, West made a weird, off-hand comment about Justin Timberlake.

He said,

I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and CeeLo [Green] lose. Gnarls Barkley and the [FutureSex/LoveSound] album, and bro, Justin I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking he deserved to win album of the year. And the small box that we are of entertainers of the evening, how could you explain that?

Keep in mind, West said all this during a presidential campaign announcement.

West was reportedly referencing the 2007 Grammys when CeeLo Green, as a part of Gnarls Barkley, was nominated for record of the year for “Crazy” and when Timberlake was nominated for album of the year with FutureSex/LoveSounds.

Both lost out to the Dixie Chicks and, according to Kanye, Timberlake allegedly cried about the loss.

Timberlake played the whole thing off pretty cool on Twitter.

Jokes, you guys... Jokes. #chill — Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) August 31, 2015

He even later voiced his support for West's presidential run.

Btw... I JUST watched my man 'Ye's FULL speech... He always has a point. And I support it. #truth — Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) August 31, 2015

Could we see a West/Timberlake campaign ticket in 2020? I'd vote for that. I'd vote the CRAP outta that.
