Round 2: Katy Perry Responds To The Taylor Swift And Nicki Minaj Beef

by Eitan Levine

Katy Perry decided to get herself a portion of that hot Nicki Minaj/Taylor Swift Twitter beef.

Earlier this week, the Internet pulled up a chair, popped some popcorn and watched Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift duke it out on Twitter over “Anaconda” getting robbed of a Video of The Year VMA nomination.

Katy Perry decided to dip her toes into the controversy pool for some reason by throwing up a tweet that requires a Comparative Literature degree from Oxford to understand.

We now present to you a reading from the Book of Perry:

Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman... — KATY PERRY (@katyperry) July 22, 2015

Though the tweet reads as if it was written by a Miss America contestant who was asked to discuss feminism, there is some weight to what she's trying to say.

Basically, Perry thinks it's ironic that Swift would claim Nicki Minaj is trying to “pit women against each other” when the song “Bad Blood” was (allegedly, but) literally about her fight with Katy Perry.

Read the tweet a few times with that knowledge and join the chorus of people going, “Oooohhhhhhhh, OK. I kinda see that, I guess.”

Technically speaking, you can make the argument Perry is now hypocritically profiting off of press for fighting with Swift for profiting off of fighting with Minaj.

But who'd make that argument?

Anyway, a few minutes later, Katy went back to the Web to throw some random support to the real victim of the 2015 VMA nomination committee, Rihanna(?).

The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1... @MTV — KATY PERRY (@katyperry) July 22, 2015

OK. Sure.

Go home, Katy Perry's Twitter. You're drunk.
