It has been a month since Lamar Odom's overdose at the Love Ranch, and though he is steadily making progress, the former Laker still has plenty of recovering to do.

In an interview with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” Odom's sister-in-law, Kim Kardashian West, shared,

He's here and he's alive, but to say it's not a long road and to say he's fully better is not the truth either… He has a lot of work to do and a lot of communication therapy and having to learn to walk again and to talk again. You never know if he'll ever be the same again.

The Kardashian family regularly attended to Odom's needs over the past month, and Khloé Kardashian went as far as to call off the couple's divorce in light of his struggles.

Kardashian West continued,

Lamar is family and he'll always be family, we'll always do what we can to help take care of him, and protect him, and be there for him… It's a really unfortunate, sad situation all the way around the board, and I just encourage people to keep on praying because the road is nowhere near being over.

The reality star is optimistic her brother-in-law will find the strength to recuperate despite very nearly losing his life in October.

She told Seacrest,

I truly in my heart of hearts believe that all of the prayers that were received for Lamar worked.

Prayers aside, it appears Odom's journey back to walking and talking freely will be a long and arduous one.
