Nicki Minaj denied any rumors that the feud between her and fellow “American Idol” judge Mariah Carey was scripted. However, Nicki explains that it comes from a “place of passion,” and it is nothing against Mariah as a person. In fact, Minaj even went as far as saying that she is a huge admirer of Mariah on “The Tonight Show.”

“I’m one of her biggest fans in the world,” she said.

Minaj went into detail about what happens during their seemingly heated arguments:

”A lot of it starts off like we’re joking, but passionate and both crazy,” she said. “And then sometimes it just goes, ‘Roar,’ and you can’t really stop it.”

While Minaj admitted that she has had a temper in the past–Duh! She’s from Queens!– she will be making an effort to leave it behind her.

As for the future, things tend to get heated during live shows, so fans will just have to tune in to see how well Nicki can control herself.
