Sam Smith Just Released A New Song That's More Emotional Than 'Hello'

When Adele released her new single "Hello," I don't think there was a dry eye on the planet.

People seriously bawled listening to those lyrics because the song was the most emotional, beautiful thing that's ever left her mouth (and that's saying something).

Well, Adele, you've got some competition. Sam Smith is back and ready to break our goddamn hearts with his new song "Drowning Shadows." Even the name of the song sounds depressing.

I'm already crying. F*ck.

When discussing "Drowning Shadows" on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show, Smith said,

The song is the saddest song I've ever written and probably the least radio-friendly song I've ever written.

If you're familiar with Smith's music, you'll know that means this song must be PRETTY DAMN SAD.
