Steve Carell Will Most Likely Not Return To ‘The Office’ For Final Episode

We hate to be the bearers of bad news but… according to Deadline, former series star Steve Carell is unlikely to return for the final episode of The Office.

Back in August The Office’s executive producer ,Greg Daniels, made it clear they wanted Carell to return, but weren’t “going to put pressure on Steve to write something only he could do.”

Today, however, the possibility was seemingly shut down by NBC boss Greg Greenblatt. “We’re hopeful but I don’t think (Carell) will,” he said during a NBC executive session at the TCAs.

“He left in the way he wanted to leave, and he and Greg talked about it, and I don’t think he will. There’s maybe a little Hail Mary pass on a cameo, but I think the decision would be compromising his schedule.”
