Right now, hearts are breaking all over the world with the news of Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris' breakup. Their swoon-worthy relationship lasted about 15 months, but now, the days of watching the couple strut hand in hand around NYC are over.

If you're like me, you've followed Taylor Swift's life from the very beginning, when she was birthed as an international country music superstar at the young age of 15 years old. She's now only a few years older than me, so I've always looked up to her in an older sister kind of way.

When Taylor feels heartbreak, I feel heartbreak. Taylor's breakups are my breakups.

Taylor Swift's dating life has been in the public eye for the past decade, and there are a few things we can learn from her relationships and breakups:

1. Don't take anyone's sh*t.

Taylor has always had a no-nonsense attitude toward relationships, and I love that.

Remember when she first released, "We Are Never Getting Back Together?" Teenage girls everywhere were blasting it in their rooms, while dancing around in their PJs and cursing off their ex-boyfriends. Oh wait, was that just me?

The point is, don't let a guy jerk you around. Lay down the law and know your worth.

2. Don't let other people dictate your dating life.

Home girl has received more than a little criticism for her dating habits. For whatever reason, she was labeled a "crazy serial dater" for years, even though she only had a few serious boyfriends at the time. But, she didn't let the media bring her down.

Her relationships constantly faced media speculation, but she always did what made her happy. Don't let other people tell you how to date. It's your life, so do whatever the hell you want.

3. Don't be afraid to talk about your feelings.

More often than not, women get labeled as overemotional creatures who share way too much information about their personal lives. Case in point, Taylor Swift. She's never been afraid to talk (sing) about the things that make her sad, happy or downright pissed off.

Who cares if someone tells you you're being too outspoken? I mean, that guy you went on two dates with blew you off. If you want to get up and shout it from a mountain top, then you should do it, damn it.

4. Your best friends will always be there for you.

Aside from Taylor's amazing music and very public dating life, she's well known for her creation of the #squadgoals era. With more besties than I can keep up with, she's always stayed true and loyal to her friends, no matter whom she was dating.

Always make sure you keep your best friends as priority number one because, as Taylor has demonstrated time and time again, guys may come and go, but best friends are forever.

Taylor's childhood BFF actually shared an adorable message on Instagram following Taylor's breakup with Calvin Harris.

Her BFF Abigail captioned it,

There are few things more significant or valuable than a friendship that will withstand the test of time. Thank you for getting me. Always. @taylorswift

It's clear Taylor's friends have her back, no matter what.

5. Don't be afraid to get back out there.

Breakup after breakup, Taylor has picked up the pieces and gotten back on the horse. We've all gone through breakups, and we know how hard it can be to put ourselves back out there.

One of the biggest things I admire about Taylor Swift is her ability to shake off the negativity and keep on living. Her emotions may get the best of her when she's home alone, but damn, she sure seems strong when I read about her online or watch her perform.

Always know that with the goodbye of every assh*le, your Prince Charming is just one step closer.

So, there you have it. As much criticism Taylor Swift has faced for her dating life in the past, there's no denying she probably has her sh*t together more than the rest of us.

Plus, she's got the whole insanely-rich-and-beautiful thing going for her, too. I'm betting she'll brush off her Calvin Harris heartbreak in no time, and we'll all be scrolling through her Instagram feed with jealousy as she sails off into the sunset on her next adventure.

In the meantime, Taylor, if you need a new bestie to drink red wine and complain about how much guys suck with, I'm here for you.
