Blink 182’s Enema of the State, Nirvana’s Nevermind and The Smashing Pumpkins’ Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness are all classic albums with classic album covers. The albums are just as well known for their artwork as for their music. Needless to say, it’d be pretty hard to improve upon these iconic covers.

But, I think the guys over at Ript Apparel have found a way. They just came out with a series of t-shirts that place famous film, TV and video game characters on famous album covers. The art is really cool — I’m definitely going to invest in a few of these.

The best creation is toss-up between No Doubt’s Tragic Kingdom with Super Mario characters and Metallica’s St. Anger with Wolverine’s claw.
