Cutting edge street art meets vibrant Spanish flavor as artist Alexander Mijares’ “Raise Your Weapons” will be featured in this year’s 11th edition of Art Basel in Miami, Florida. His gun series, which Mijares cuts from metal, features his signature style of mesmerizing tone mixed with brilliant colors as he individualizes each piece to make them as original and unique as possible.

His paintings are literally a visual diary of his travels and various cultures he has experienced along the way.

Mijares will be at Art Basel, along with the art world’s most elite buyers and artists, showcasing his collaborations with LA artist Desire Obtain Cherish and Barcelona native, artist PEZ.

These pieces will include two pianos that Mijares painted for Pop Up Piano Miami in which only 8 lucky artists were chosen. The pianos show the self taught artist’s attention to detail and his modern merge of street psychedelia with a traditional Spanish feel.

The event will take place from December 6-9 at the W Hotel in South Beach.
