When it comes to cities like Los Angeles and New York City, they’re known for their nighttime appeal and their glaring city lights. But what would these major cities look like without their lights?

Back in October of last year, we were given a little glimpse of what Lower Manhattan in NYC looked like without lights when Hurricane Sandy decided to partially wipeout the power.

What would other cities around the world, like Shanghai, Tokyo, San Francisco and Paris look like without their lights? Photographer and skilled artist Thierry Cohen decided to take photos of major cities around the world and edit them to remove all electricity for his photo collection called Darkened Cities.
