Style is usually based on personal preference. However, I think we can all agree, China's latest style trend is anything but fashion.
Allow me to introduce you to the newest article of clothing that's making me question my faith in humanity: the facekini.
If the first thought that comes to your mind after seeing this thing is "WTF?," you're not alone. I've seen some pretty weird stuff in my life, but nothing compares to this.
Now, if you haven't thrown your laptop out a window or gouged your eyes out yet, I'll give you the deets on this unsightly ensemble. Apparently, these things are intended to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun while you're chilling at the beach, looking like a damn alien.
It turns out the facekini first surfaced back in 2004 and ever since, these things have been gaining a lot of popularity among the beach-going fashionistas in China's Shandong providence.
But if you ask me, the facekini might just be one of the most terrifying outfits in the universe. Seriously, beam me up, Scotty.
