M&M’s Just Released A Caramel Flavor For The First Time Ever

Halloween is right around the corner, so it’s time to get your candy-eating game face on.

If your sugary Halloween habits happen to include stuffing your face with an endless amount of M&M’s, you might want to stop chewing that candy for a second and listen up.

Apparently, there’s going to be a new flavor joining the M&M’s family pretty soon.

That’s right. For the first time in 75 years, Mars (the company responsible for our favorite colorful candies) will be adding a glorious, gooey filling to its classic chocolate candies.

Feast your eyes on the Caramel M&M’s.

How did it take Mars 75 YEARS to come up with this idea?!

CNN Money tweeted a GIF showcasing these colorful, caramel-filled candies.

Take one look at these scrumptious caramel candies and it’s not hard to see that the new flavor looks delicious AF.

The new treats are slightly larger than the original and feature a soft caramel center covered in milk chocolate, finished off with a crunchy candy coating.

Hank Izzo, Vice President of Research and Development at Mars Chocolate, told CNN Money,

It was a big technological challenge for us. We never before had a M&M lentil with a true soft center, so we had to figure out how to not make the chocolate too sticky or too soft that it could collapse.

M&M’s addicts have been freaking out ever since.

Twitter users can’t wait to try these tantalizing, caramel-filled treats.

However, it appears that there are also some candy critics lurking in the Twittersphere….

…who are hardcore hating on the new caramel M&M’s flavor and speculating these caramel candies probably taste gross.

If you’re on board to try a bag (or 10) of these bad boys, I hate to break it to you, but you’re going to have to wait a few months…

…because the new caramel M&M’s won’t be making its delectable debut until May 2017.

But hey, if you ask me, these eye-catching candies definitely look like they’re worth the wait.
