Just when you thought cronuts were the best thing that could ever happen within the culinary industry, a Chicago waffle shop called Waffles Cafe decided to create a cross between a waffle and a doughnut.
It’s called the “wonut” and you’re probably already trying to figure out the best way possible to get your hands on one of these. We don’t blame you, they look delicious!
According to Thrillist, they’re only available at two Waffles Cafe locations in Chicago, but it won’t be long before other bakeries in other major cities start copying them!
Check out the photos below for a closer look at the mouthwatering greatness.
Here they are in their full glory. Wonuts.
Once the batter is shaped and prepared, they’re deep-fried in vegetable shortening.
After that, they’re dipped in icing. Yum!
Sprinkles and other toppings like chocolate and nuts can be added.
Love red velvet? You’ll love the red velvet wonut! It’s topped with leftover red velvet crumbles.
Next up, the Mexican chocolate wonut. It’s exactly what it sounds like and features orange zest and dark chocolate shavings on the outside.

Always eager to inform, Anthony is the lifestyle editor at Elite Daily and is knowledgeable about pretty much anything within the walls of awesomeness: from the latest Lamborghini, to the most absurd burgers around. He also enjoys spontaneous skateboarding sessions on New York City's Upper East Side. Much like writing, it's what keeps the guy alive.
This past weekend, New York became the 23rd state in the US to legalize medical marijuana. Though Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the bill Saturday, it will be at least another 18 months before medical marijuana becomes available in New York...
When I was a sophomore in high school, I dated a girl who I was too stupid to understand was bad for me. She was selfish, dramatic and rude. She sported a fake tan, wore shorts that were too short and crimped her hair to crispy perfection. There were plenty of signs that she was wrong […]
This guy makes cutting a watermelon look way too easy. Setting out to cut a watermelon always seems like a daunting task: It’s big, it’s intimidating and if you slip your large, sharp knife (you can only use a large, sharp knife) the wrong way, you’ll literally kill yourself. In this video, a man proves […]
A restaurant in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties’ neighborhood may have created the next big item in specialty burgers. PYT, known for “keeping burgers weird,” played on their city’s cheesy heritage by rolling out their new Donut Cheesesteak Burger on Tuesday. The burger, made with a beef patty on a grilled and glazed donut bun, is topped […]
All the excitement around “50 Shades of Grey” just got really, really weird. Someone has baked a variety of Christian Grey-themed cakes, taking the phrase “He’s so yummy!” a little too far. I’m especially creeped out by the fact that Christian’s belt is undone in each rendition of him — however, much like the book […]
There’s a chance you’ve used every tactic to grill up your burgers and hot dogs this summer except for what you’re about to witness in this video. A couple of badass cooks decided to use molten lava and lightning to cook a steak. Their names are Bompas and Parr, and let’s just say they’re known for […]
When it comes to food, certain things just don’t mix. But, Nick over at Dude Foods decided to push the limits with these S’mores Chicken Wings. The craziest part is, according to Food Beast, the salty/sweet combination actually sat well with his tastebuds. It’s pretty simple: First, Nick cooked the chicken wings until they were […]
WWE scriptwriters found themselves in hot water this week after Russian character Lana (whose real name is Catherine Joy Perry) went on a rant about American politics. It was a line that alluded to people in this country believing that Russia was involved with the recent Malaysia Airlines tragedy that has people getting upset. You blame […]
The future of skateboarding is a highway with endless destinations, but to learn more about where it’s headed, we first need to take a step back and remember where it all began. Today’s generation may be enamored with MegaRamps and risking it all on a 20-set stairs, but in a time when there was nothing […]
People matter… sort of. It’s a fine balance we keep between being ourselves and giving into the wants, likes and preferences of others. Throughout our lives, people influence us in ways both large and small. In passing, people may affect our moods, our simplest of actions and decisions; however, those who have a greater influence […]
There’s only one type of long distance relationship I would tolerate in life and that is the one I have with my best friend. Thank God for texting, Snapchat and FaceTime because they basically nullify the whole out of sight, out of mind issue. But, even with these convenient advents around to simulate geographic proximity and intimacy, […]
When season five of “Game of Thrones” finally rolls around, you’re going to need something to sip on, aren’t you? I mean what’s “Game of Thrones” without a glass of wine in hand? Thanks to Common Ventures, an Australia-based creative group, we could soon have “GoT”-themed wines to pair along with each new episode. According […]
Well, this is one way to get back at a bellicose leader. Russian President Vladimir Putin might have positioned himself as a strong actor totally willing to isolate allies to get what he wants, and his actions aren’t just being met with reprimand from other international leaders. Ukrainian astronomers, for example, are seeking to also […]
