Just when you thought cronuts were the best thing that could ever happen within the culinary industry, a Chicago waffle shop called Waffles Cafe decided to create a cross between a waffle and a doughnut.
It’s called the “wonut” and you’re probably already trying to figure out the best way possible to get your hands on one of these. We don’t blame you, they look delicious!
According to Thrillist, they’re only available at two Waffles Cafe locations in Chicago, but it won’t be long before other bakeries in other major cities start copying them!
Check out the photos below for a closer look at the mouthwatering greatness.
Here they are in their full glory. Wonuts.
Once the batter is shaped and prepared, they’re deep-fried in vegetable shortening.
After that, they’re dipped in icing. Yum!
Sprinkles and other toppings like chocolate and nuts can be added.
Love red velvet? You’ll love the red velvet wonut! It’s topped with leftover red velvet crumbles.
Next up, the Mexican chocolate wonut. It’s exactly what it sounds like and features orange zest and dark chocolate shavings on the outside.

What if we told you there’s a restaurant where every dish features bacon? Well, there is! It’s called Bar Brutus and you’d have to go to Montreal to experience such a heavenly place, but hey, it’s probably worth it. After all, this is bacon — on everything — we’re talking about. According to Huffington Post, Anthoni […]
The best days start with the best breakfasts. Tieghan, the young woman behind the food blog Half Baked Harvest has come to the rescue with her recipe for Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie ‘n’ Milk Breakfast Cups. Is your mouth watering yet? The recipe was inspired by Cronut-creator Dominque Ansel’s luxury Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shots, which debuted […]
If your day was made earlier this week by deep-fried tequila, just wait. This is even better. Let me introduce you to weed-infused sauce for frozen pizza. Yes, this is every stoner’s dream come true, because, honestly, there really is nothing like a nice J and some pizza. Marijuana isn’t legal yet in Pennsylvania, but this […]
Why settle for regular chocolate chip cookies when there are other crafty things that can be done with chocolate chip cookie dough? Why not draw outside of the lines a bit? We came across a genius who did just that. Matt Stonie is a competitive eater who, instead of settling for your everyday cookie, used cookie […]
Apparently, there’s a better way to stuff your face with chicken and waffles. No, it doesn’t involve venturing off to the nearest Waffle House; it wouldn’t have this mouthwatering concoction on the menu! We recently stumbled across these Maple Waffle Chicken Nuggets put together by Morgan of Host the Toast, a food blog. These nuggets […]
How many times have you found yourself uttering a phrase resembling, “I just want to get drunk without actually drinking”? Well, your prayers have been answered. Deep-fried tequila actually exists. A new paper in the Journal of Applied Psychology “claims reading the ‘Harry Potter’ series significantly improved young peoples’ perception of stigmatized groups like immigrants, homosexuals or refugees.” The study essentially found that young people who had an emotional attachment with the character of Harry Potter were less likely to be prejudiced against minority groups. When […]
The two Americans who contracted the Ebola virus may have been saved by an experimental serum previously tested only on monkeys. CNN reports that Dr. Kent Brantly and hygienist Nancy Writebol’s conditions improved dramatically last week after taking ZMapp, a drug developed by San Diego-based biotech firm Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. The two, who most likely […]
Your wine and “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” nights may soon come to a halt. Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian refuse to begin filming season 10 of their reality show in October because their homes have repeatedly been broken into and robbed over the past year. Someone stole $250,000 in jewelry from Khloe’s house, Kourtney’s Calabasas […]
I dedicated 30 to 40 hours per week from the ages of 18 to 20 to working at the local gas station. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t walk away from the experience thinking it was just another dead-end job that I was happy was over. I can confidently say that those two significant years left me […]
Most popular videos involving construction workers feature either people in a cranes destroying things they weren’t supposed to or guys on a construction site yelling things that they definitely weren’t supposed to. This is an exception. After finding a baby deer chilling in an area marked for imminent destruction, one worker tried to transport it […]
If Quentin Tarantino’s films are known for one thing, it’s their insanely graphic violence. This video only lends more credence to that fact. A Vimeo user, Jaume R. Lloret, put together an amazingly bloody supercut of every death from every Tarantino movie. I’m a huge fan of Tarantino, but, to be completely honest, this much gore packed […]
