Ever since Andy Warhol and his entourage caused a near-riot here in 1965, the ICA has been shaking up the city with shows revealing the hottest and coolest trends in contemporary art.

The Experience:

The ICA has led the way with the first-ever museum shows of Warhol, Laurie Anderson, Agnes Martin, Robert Indiana and other influential artists.

The wide-open spaces and ultra-high ceilings of its building on the Penn campus, opened in 1990, allow plenty of room for artists to let loose with multimedia installations that climb, hang or scatter through the galleries. Recent shows have looked at fashion icon Rudi Gernreich, bad-girl painter Lisa Yuskavage, and the young collaborative group Space 1026.

History :

Founded in 1963, the ICA has earned an international reputation among contemporary art museums. It’s never been shy of controversy: the museum’s 1988 show of Robert Mapplethorpe photographs put it at the center of a national firestorm over funding for the arts.

I feel sinful […]

US citizens pride themselves on being part of a progressive democracy, an alleged model for the entire globe. But oftentimes, when it comes to LGBTQ rights, we could learn a thing or two from other countries around the world. Although we’ve made some great strides in gay rights throughout the past decade, — from overturning […]

A Wasted Dude Managed To Take The Most Unnecessary/Necessary Uber Ride Ever

People often engage in ridiculous shenanigans after a night of drinking. But this unnecessary Uber ride might be one of the more ridiculous ones I’ve ever seen. Such a waste of $4.28. I get it; you were probably really tired, your feet probably hurt, or you probably just really, really needed to go to bed […]

The World’s First Family Robot Could Change The Way We Live (Video)

Jibo is the world’s first family robot. No, this is not one of those huge, weird Japanese robots that can only be used in a lab or something. This little guy is your new favorite little brother. He reads to kids under play forts, takes photos at birthday parties, shows your voicemail messages, reads recipes in […]

This Dad Has Some Choice Words For Anyone Who Wants To Marry His Daughter (Video)

If for some reason you’re one of those people who hasn’t grown tired of white people playing ska-pop on acoustic guitars, you’ve probably heard the song “Rude” by MAGIC! at least a couple of times. Even if that’s not your favorite genre, you’ve probably heard it a bunch anyway because it’s summer and popular music […]
