Louis Vuitton: Fall 2013 Menswear
Louis Vuitton never ceases to amaze and they certainly delivered for their 2013 Fall Menswear. Inspired by a trip to Bhutan and Nepal, the collection infuses color and patterns while also incorporating the exotic mystique of the Eastern World.
Bhutan and Nepal’s winter temperatures and culture infused the collection with beaver fur lined parkas, cashmere and mink outerwear, with a hint of snow leopard.
The suiting paid tribute to the national flare, influenced by the Bhutanese national uniform from their checks and stripes.
Throughout the collection, I could spot botanical print, done by British artists Jake and Dinos Chapman. The print appeared on dinner jackets and silken robes.
The print discloses owls and pandas clutching the branches, the animals were reprised on lapel pins, also realized at the peak of possible luxury. Jones explains “They’ve got ruby eyes and a pearl nose.”
