In America, we have a long, rich tradition of f*cking up tea. We're notorious for drowning it with sugar, throwing cases of it into the ocean and buying overpriced boxes of it because Oprah told us to.

It should come as no surprise that we've been botching the preparation of tea for as long as we've been sipping it. Thankfully, ZAGAT released a video on its YouTube channel that explains exactly how we should be making that leafy brew.

According to tea expert Kiley Holliday, it's all about refining the temperature of the water depending on the type of tea you're making. Apparently, one size -- i.e. boiling -- does not fit all. Green teas require a lower temperature and a shorter steeping time while black teas require a longer soak in hotter water.

While her methods definitely take more effort than throwing some scalding water on a bag of Lipton, your taste buds will surely thank you for it. Watch the video above to learn how to become a tea expert in the time it takes to steep some english breakfast.
