Protected only by metal bars forty feet under the waters of Guadaloupe Island in the Pacific, the brave snappers watch as the 3,500 pound great whites wrap their razor sharp teeth round the shark cages.

Underwater photographer Todd Winner managed to capture the jaw-dropping scenes as two of the 16-foot predators circled and rammed the cages during the divers three day stay in the tropical paradise.

Attracted by fur seals and Californian sea lion migration to the Mexican owned island, Todd and his colleagues were treated to a rare display of power as the great whites showed why they are top of the food chain in the water.
