This year the Grammys were preceded by the shocking news of Whitney Houston’s death.

While the music fraternity expressed their heartfelt condolences and were deeply saddened by the news, they did not let this affect the glamour and upbeat quotient at the Grammys.

The celebrities walked the red carpet in their finest gowns and sent the photographers into a tizzy.

Here’s a list of the best dressed at the Grammys 2012:

5. Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning in a Stella McCartney gown. The gold belt is the apt accessory and side cut-outs reveal her perfect figure. The pulled back hair and minimal make-up look bring out the true diva in her.

4. Rihanna

Rihanna’s bold Armani gown goes well with her personality. It is flowy, revealing enough yet not much, and accentuates her figure.

3. Taylor Swift

She is the princess of the music world and this Zuhair Murad gown does justice to her royalty. Looking elegant, classy and carrying herself with elan, Taylor charmed everyone.

2. Adele

She not only won the maximum number of Grammys but she won the maximum number of hearts on the red carpet in her Giorgio Armani gown. The custom made black gown, the red lips and wavy short hair completed her 60s Hollywood look. We’re sure the man who broke her heart regrets his actions alright!

1. Carrie Underwood

Her claim to fame is American Idol and she has since been a country music favourite. She wore a classy Gomez-Gracia gown and put her best lady-like look forward at this years Grammys.
