Sometimes less is more. When it comes to architecture and luxury real estate, that’s the case most of the time which brings us to the Canterbury Residence. Located in Australia, the Canterbury residence holds the title for one of the most luxurious but minimal homes on the market. Situated in the city of Canterbury, Australia, the home continues to wow everyone from the average passerby to the architecture-obsessed junkie.
The home’s design consists of several textures and effects such as stone, glass and wood. By the look of things, you can tell that the property gives off an earthy vibe which adds to the homey feel. The great thing about this house is that it doesn’t attract too much attention from the front but when you’re inside of it, you can tell that this isn’t your average one-story.
The kitchen is mostly a hard mixture of dark wood and white stone which makes the area look neater and cleaner without really trying. If you were to make a mess of course, you’d be able to see it much easier than if you were to have a totally dark kitchen area. Most of the house is based off of a white foundation. Most modern structures are.
The lighting in the house is very dim but the white colors add to the lightness which evens out the brightness of everything. As for closet space – no worries. Each room in this house has a really nice, spacious closet. The dining room and lounge area is probably one of the dark spots in the house with a nice dark stone area by the fireplace. When it’s hot out, there’s a sleek metal ceiling fan right above you.
Let’s take things out back. This is probably our favorite part of the house – the pool area. It’s almost as if you’re on a small island out in the tropical sea. The pool gives off a really vibrant blue color which is visible from the small lounge area which consists of 4 chairs and a small table. All in all, we’d suggest this house for 2-4 people. You don’t want to constrict yourself or anyone else.
