Unveiled at the BaselWorld fair this year, the Charming Bird watch continues to captivate luxury timepiece lovers. The watch was designed for the 275th anniversary celebration of Jaquet Droz, a Swiss watchmaker who has been crafting fine art since 1738.

The Charming Bird watch holds the title for being the world’s first singing bird automata wristwatch that has ever been made. We’ve seen tons of special timepieces, but this Jaquet Droz bird watch is one of the more sophisticated pieces we’ve seen in a while – and it can sing!

The Charming Bird is actually the fourth installment of a watchmaking saga that began back in 2010 with the introduction of miniature painting – followed by engraving and sculpture in 2011. – Design Father

Although it’s a work of art, the celebratory watch is not one for everyday use. It’s going to set you back about $450,000, so you’re going to have to choose between this watch and a Ferrari if money is tight!

This wristwatch is definitely not an everyday watch, though. But a collector’s hidden treasure, carrying the heavy signature of Jaquet Droz.

Check out more photos of this stunning timepiece below.
