Kanye West Takes Shots at Kris Humphries of the Nets on New Song
Produced by Hit-Boy, who helmed The Throne’s “N***as in Paris,” “Theraflu” harnesses the intensity of West’s “Power,” but features a few repeated tossed-off lines as a hook over an amorphous beat. The most salacious lines focus on Kim Kardashian, as Yeezy throws out a threat against her ex-husband, Kris Humphries: “And I’ll admit, I fell in love with Kim/’Round the same time she fell in love with him/Well, that’s cool, baby girl, do your thang/Lucky I didn’t have Jay drop him from the team,” he raps.
Humphries, of course, plays for Jay-Z’s New Jersey Nets. Judging by Khaled’s involvement in the track, “Theraflu” could end up on the Miami hitmaker’s next album, “Kiss The Ring.” “Take It To The Head,” a new Khaled single featuring Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, was posted on Khaled’s Twitter account last week.
“Theraflu” is the first of two new songs West is releasing this week, as “Mercy,” the first taste of the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, is set for release on Friday. The song will feature West as well as Pusha T, Big Sean and 2 Chainz.
