Kanye West’s Limited Edition Nike Sneakers Sold For $90,000 on eBay

The second edition of the Nike Air Yeezy 2, designed by Kanye West, was scheduled to be officially offered on June 10th for $245. But the rapper must be pretty pleased with himself, because the hot sneakers sold for a staggering $90,300 on eBay. 

The “new with box” Nikes received a total of 84 bids. The sneaker, designed in the mold of West’s own foot, was an unusually popular item, since high bids for the same kind of Nikes have not even reached $1,800.

Nike reaps rewards from the star’s designer shoes. Their product was promoted on the internet, and it went viral. And this insane response happened three days before the sneakers are set to go on sale.

West’s Nike Air Yeezy 2 and the LeBron 9 Galaxy South Beach Elite sneakers will be introduced to the market on limited release. The sneakers feature anaconda-style leather covering the upper, with a pink lining and glow-in-the-dark outsoles. These features sit atop a tennis-style sole, which was borrowed from the Nike Air Tech Challenge II.

The $90,300 selling price has made the pair one of the most expensive shoes ever.
