The Corum coin-watch has a long and rich history to look back on. Nearly every president since Richard Nixon has worn the watch with the dial made from a real gold coin. It’s a chronograph that’s proved exceptionally popular with collectors – and in 2006, the manufacturer began to re-issue it.

Watchmakers experimented for a long time using coins as the cases for pocket watches. These models tend to be very fragile, which lead Corum to the idea of using the coin for the dial instead – an idea made possible by the introduction of protective sapphire glass.

The result of these endeavors – the coin watch – was first presented in Basel in 1965.

5 Solid Options Of Actresses Who Could Replace Jessica Lange On ‘American Horror Story’

To be quite honest, I’m not the biggest “American Horror Story” fan. I think it’s severely flawed and, at times, extremely annoying. In typical Ryan Murphy fashion, the show ping-pongs back and forth between obnoxiously preachy, spoon-feeding you every syrupy metaphor while dumbing down all symbolism for its simplistic audience, to shocking for the sake […]

29 Struggles That Are Just Too Real For Short Girls

I surely am a short girl — an unquestionably short girl. Like, we’re talking 4’11” on a good day, kind of short. From having to sit in a car seat until an embarrassingly late age, to getting denied from amusement park rides as a full-grown adult, my life has been one massive blur from a […]

Why Suspending Todd Gurley Is Ignoring The Bigger Problem With The NCAA

Saturday means college football. More specifically, beer, yelling and tailgating, but most importantly, college football. I hear all the time, over and over again, how college football trumps its counterpart, the NFL, due to the passion, intensity and the unpredictability each game provides. Last week, however, another part of the game — maybe the only […]

I used to think loving someone meant giving up anything and everything to be with him or her to prove your love is strong enough to make that sacrifice. I lived in Ireland for four months and was lucky to fall deeply in love. We planned a make-believe future and discussed what we would have […]
