Earlier this year young financier Alex Hope splashed out £125,000 on a Midas of Armand de Brignac Brut Gold NV at a nightclub in Liverpool, racking up the most expensive bar bill in the world in the process.
Yvonne Lardner, Armand de Brignac’s director of PR has reported a large interest in Nebuchadnezzar’s of Brut Gold NV in emerging market Nigeria, which are being used for weddings and large family celebrations.
Lardner also reports an interest in Ace of Spades Rosé from men: “We’ve found our Rosé to be really popular with men, the stigma towards the style seems to have gone,” she told db.
Ace of Spades recently appeared in Nigerian singer D’banj’s music video for the song Oliver Twist. D’Banj is signed to rapper Kanye West’s record label.
Last month db reported that Nigeria was developing a thirst for wine, and particularly high end Champagne, with its wine industry expected to reach US $370m by 2015.

This past weekend, New York became the 23rd state in the US to legalize medical marijuana. Though Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the bill Saturday, it will be at least another 18 months before medical marijuana becomes available in New York...
Devices and gadgets are cool to play with and all, but some of us are more interested in seeing what’s going on behind the scenes. We recently came across an awesome photo series by Brandon Allen. The Toronto-based photographer took it upon himself to take apart various controllers that belong to our favorite game systems growing […]
In case you were unaware, today marks the Nintendo Game Boy’s 25th birthday. You might not have noticed how much time has passed since that lifesaver of a device, aka the boredom-killer, was introduced to North America. It’s pretty insane to take a look back at the electronic timeline and check out what’s come out […]
Let’s face it, we’re going to have to deal with technology taking over the world one day. As a matter of fact, the takeover has already begun. You can determine that by observing how obsessed everyone is with social media and smartphones. An Italian artist group called IOCOSE decided to bridge the gap between drones […]
Think about how many people around the world have iPhones, or how many cans of Coke there are in your city alone. Sure, it’s easy to see that companies like Apple and Coca-Cola both dominate the markets effortlessly, but how many servings and units do they actually move on a daily or yearly basis? The […]
Let’s just say the way you camped this year is not the way you’ll be camping in the future. As a matter of fact, we might’ve come across the future of camping and it starts with your tent. It’s called the B-and-Bee Honeycomb tent. The concept was designed by a group of Belgian designers. It’s […]
This past weekend New York served as the host city for the annual SneakerCon convention. SneakerCon is a gathering of sneaker fanatics, traders, sellers and admirers who all come together in the name of shoes. To say the event drew a crowd would be an understatement. The line just to enter Pier 94, on Manhattan’s […]
Someone get this woman a record deal stat! A woman was filmed on a subway platform in Brooklyn singing her heart out to Beyoncé’s “Halo.” Honestly, her voice may be better than Mrs. Carter’s. There’s not a ton of context here, but it is fair to say that this woman is absolutely killing it. She has […]
Just when you least expect it, Bill Murray pops up and blows up the Internet. Recently, he made an epic speech at a bachelor party. Then, he photobombed a couple’s engagement photos. Now, there’s a photo of him eating ice cream with a little girl and a man who is presumably her father. The picture […]
Years after his death, Michael Jackson continues to touch our youth. Sorry, bad joke. What I meant to say, is children are still finding inspiration in the King of Pop’s music and dance moves. At least 6-year-old Willie Osborn did as he danced his little heart out to Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” at a talent show […]
Despite what most people seem to think, falling in love does not guarantee loyalty – from either party. Falling in love doesn’t even guarantee staying in love, so even if the apple of your eye is the only apple you see, it doesn’t guarantee that you won’t want to have an orange some time down […]
If your early twenties are for mistakes, and your late forties are for paying for those mistakes, then somewhere in post-25 is like the awkward middle child stuck between one strict parent and one fun one. It’s the age range in which you have to start seriously thinking about being an adult, while simultaneously dealing […]
If you were to compile seven days worth of your own trash, you’d probably just think to throw it out at the end of the week, right? Not these people! In a recent photography series conducted by Gregg Segal, a group of Americans were asked to pose with seven days worth of their own trash. […]
