Yas Waterworld In Abu Dhabi To Open In December

by Robert Anthony

Yas Waterworld is soon going to be one of the best ways to have fun in the Middle East. Scheduled for a grand opening this December, the entertainment park covers 15 acres of land and boasts 43 different rides. This will be an irresistible attraction in the area, as it is set right next to the famous Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Yas Marina Circuit, and the Yas Links Golf Course, all of them located on the Yas Island.

According to The Theme Park Guy, this is already “the world’s most exciting waterpark construction site”, so we can only expect it to be a real stunner when finished. The building process began in February, 2011, and at the moment the project is very close to completion, with the final touches being added right now. Yas Waterworld will definitely be the largest amusement park in the Middle East, and one of the biggest in the world. What’s more, this waterpark is also the first ecologically certified one in the Middle East.

The theme chosen for this project was The Legend of the Lost Pearl, where Dana, a young Emirati girl, tries to bring prosperity to her village. Some of the best amusement areas include the first Tornado in the Middle East, with a 20-meter (65.6-foot) high funnel, the world’s first roller coaster with on-board laser and water special effects, and the world’s largest sheet wave for surfing.

Created by Aldar Properties in collaboration with Farah Leisure Parks Management, the park also includes the Yas Hotel with the largest LED project in the world, a Pearl Shop, three restaurants, and various merchandise stores. Yas Waterworld will be open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, and it will even host some very interesting events, such as the “women’s only night”. It sure sounds like tons of fun!
