As a humor writer, I take pride in supplying my readers with the freshest and most authentic material on the Internet.

Consequently, a major part of my job requires me to do my due diligence to ensure that the content I post isn’t the creation of a bored teenager or marketing executive framing something as “real” in an attempt to go viral.

At first glance, this conversation looks as fake as they come. The premise is that an Imgur user received a wrong number text from an 18-year-old who was apparently propositioning their best friend’s mom for sex, which right off the bat raises every single red flag there is in the world.

It would be really easy to yell “Fake!” and I’m sure there will be a few commenters who will end up saying it anyway because they didn’t take the time to read this write-up.

I can’t prove that this conversation happened as it’s presented, but I honestly believe that it did based on the sheer absurdity of the situation.

Raging hormones can make people do crazy things, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Robbie honestly believed that scenario he had undoubtedly seen unfold in a number of unscrupulous videos could actually happen in real life.

He probably thinks that strippers like him, too.

There are few memories we can look back on from our middle school and high school years that bring us joy. Most of them are full of shame, regret and self-loathing. And a few are just f*cking embarrassing. While we all have our own collection of horrible, humiliating and sickening moments, there are a few, […]

Study, Sleep Or Be Social? Why You Can Only Juggle Two In College

My freshman year of college was quite an adjustment: I went from 267 students in my high school graduating class to 4,000 students in my college freshman class. The high school classes in which I dedicated little effort to receive ”A” letter grades turned into introductory-level college courses that were the bane of my existence. I […]

How Voter ID Laws Are Just Another Hidden Form Of Racism In The US

Across the country, Republican-dominated state legislatures are passing laws that disenfranchise millions of otherwise eligible voters. Dozens of states have passed laws that require a photo ID to vote. Ostensibly, these laws are justified because they prevent voter fraud. At first, the laws appear to be effective ways to ensure every election be decided fairly. […]

Anxious Wanderer: 4 Reasons Why Travel Just Might Help Us Cope With Anxieties

One of the worst aspects of anxiety is the ability to take something seemingly innocuous and make it exceedingly more complex and fear-inducing than at all reasonable. Talking to strangers or calling to set up appointments can lead to sweating, heart palpitations and nausea. Leaving the house? An opportunity to get lost in a downward […]
