The Internet loves it when animals do things that animals normally don’t do, with Keyboard Cat likely serving as the most prolific example of this obsession.
The world’s top piano-playing feline made a surprise return last week, and just when it looked like Keyboard Cat was setting himself up for the ultimate comeback after almost seven years, Keyboard Otters showed up on the scene to steal his shine.
The National Zoo set up a keyboard next to a cage filled with everyone’s favorite, hand-holding sea mammals, and the results are amazing.
The installation is temporary, but I think they should keep it there for as long as it takes for the otters to learn some basic standards. Start them with “Chopsticks” and see where it goes from there.
What would you rather see: an otter or an otter covering Jerry Lee Lewis on a tiny, floating piano? Exactly.
