College students are quickly running out of time to use syllabus week as an excuse for skipping classes, which means it's time to start focusing on the important rules to keep in mind when professors actually start taking attendance.

Not falling asleep is probably near the top of that list.

I doubt even the most tenured teacher would actually resort to breaking out the fire extinguisher to extract revenge on a sleeping student, but it's always a possibility.
