As a teaser for Jay-Z‘s upcoming album, Magna Carta Holy GrailSamsung released three short videos in which Jay-Z describes the inspiration behind some of his new songs. From “Heaven,” to “Oceans,” to “Holy Grail,” Hov breaks down to Rick Rubin, Pharell, and Timbaland his emotions and reasons behind each piece.

When watching these short clips, I couldn’t help but find humor in what Jay-Z was saying. Obviously, I have the utmost respect for him as an artist, but the way he was describing each song in such a simplistic and conversational matter juxtaposed with the artistic style of the video was just plain funny.

We decided to parody this style video with our own project:

It’s Nothing Personal: Why You Need To Stop Thinking The World Is Out To Get You

I was recently liberated by a concept that, in fact, I’ve always opposed. It’s not personal! I hated this motto.
