How The Long Island Iced Tea Was Actually Created [Video]

PBS recently released this short special that documents the invention of the legendary Long Island Iced Tea.

The alcohol-assault of a drink was created by Bob "Rosebud" Butt at the Oak Beach Inn East in Baylon in the early seventies and is now responsible for tons of bad decisions worldwide.

Butt, still alive and well, is obviously proud as ever by his brilliant invention, sporting a "LI ICE T" license plate, though everyone who passes by probably just thinks he's a soon-to-be-jailed alcoholic.
