New York City in the late 1970’s was a completely different world compared to modern day New York. One of the starkest differences was the subway system.
Photographer Bruce Davidson captured the era of graffiti-filled trains, which played host to interesting characters, armed robberies, and the gangs which inspired the cult classic The Warriors. Here are some of his finest images:
