These Zodiac Signs Make The Most Money, So It's Time To Change Careers

I've been saying for years that Capricorns are the CEOs of the zodiac, but it turns out, that's more of a personality trait than an actual reality.

An older study done through CareerBuilder gives us more definitive answers about which signs are actually making the most money.

It included data from more than 8,700 workers and was conducted nationwide, across several industries.

Not only does this study give us an idea of how much money the signs are making, but it also looks into how happy everyone in the zodiac is with their chosen profession.

It also compares the professions the signs chose vs. the ones they're best suited for, based on their astrological characteristics.

Scorpios, Leos, Taureans and Cancers were the top earners, reported to be the most likely to earn $100,000 or more per year, while Aquarians and Capricorns were most likely to earn $35,000 or less.

Pisces, Sagittarius and Capricorn reported the most satisfaction with their current jobs, and Gemini and Cancer reported being the least satisfied.

As far as the jobs that astrology says you're best suited for vs. the jobs each sign actually found themselves doing, here's how it all broke down:

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

Aries are outspoken, confident and fairly impulsive people. It's a sign that is known for taking the initiative.

Anyone who's ever dated an Aries can attest to the fact that they are very uncomfortable with inaction, making them enthusiastic and decisive leaders.

According to the study, most Aries affirmed working in industries astrology has said they're best suited for: working in government, construction, hotels and education.

These are all professions that speak well to their characteristics.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Taureans are reliable, practical and honest. They are methodical and work well in teams, and they are passionate about bringing people together to form a cohesive group.

They love jobs that will support an extravagant lifestyle or contain an element of spirituality.

Compatible professions include jobs in finance, accounting and interior design. Nursing, engineering, law, marketing, PR and higher education also fit the bill for jobs attuned to Taureans.

These are all jobs the majority of them reported in the survey.

Gemini (May 21 - June 21)

Geminis need a profession that keeps them motivated and interested. No two days at work should be the same.

They're highly skilled communicators, and they are skilled at debating or exchanging ideas.

Geminis from the survey reported working in art, design, architecture, nursing and personal care, sales, law enforcement and firefighting.

These are all up a Gemini's alley, but they also reported being the least satisfied in their field. This could possibly be because of a Gemini's propensity for boredom.

Cancer (June 22 - July 22)

Cancers are kindhearted, imaginative and protective. They're gifted caregivers and have a motherly, protective nature.

They love to cook and make strong connections with the people in their lives, whether personal or professional. They are incredibly hard workers, although somewhat meticulous and nit-picking, and they are said to do well in law, psychology, teaching or nursing.

Survey respondents said they worked in government, legal services, advertising, higher education, machine operation, transportation and military.

While these are in line with Cancer characteristics, they aren't exactly congruent with the professions astrology suggests.

But who's going to listen to astrology when they're trying to make that MONAAAYYYY?

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Leos have a true lust for power and leadership. They are confident, optimistic and charismatic and natural entertainers. (Madonna is a Leo.)

They easily win people over with charm and charisma. Obama is a Leo, and he's been named one of the best political performers of our time.

Government, legal services, art, design, architecture, engineering, entertainment, real estate and education are all areas suited for Leos, and these were the professions they reported in the survey.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Virgos are detail-oriented with a passion for knowledge and meaning. They work better as employees, in a position of service to others, than they do as their own boss.

Careers that require accuracy, detail and research are well-suited to these folks.

Some professions Virgo reported in the survey included social work, sales, editing, writing and food preparation.

These literally couldn't be more perfect for Virgo.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)

Libras are diplomatic and sociable.

They need human interaction in order to be happy in a career, and they do extremely well in positions where they have a partner to work with, as they are the sign of partnership.

Libras are cooperative and are skilled at making compromises because they are obsessed with justice and fairness.

Taking all of these factors into consideration, Libras from the survey are on course as they reported working across careers in government, social work and law enforcement.

This doesn't take into account the number of Libras involved in the arts because artists don't hang out on CareerBuilder filling out surveys.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Analytical, intuitive and resourceful, Scorpios are drawn to mystery and all things complex and abnormal.

Occupations well-matched to this personality are in science, investigation or politics. They make excellent detectives and are skilled at digging for truths.

Scorpios from the survey said they work in such careers as legal services, engineering, science, education, construction and "skilled trades," which is wonderfully vague for the typically cryptic Scorpio.

Sagittarius (November 11 - December 21)

Sagittarians are spiritual, positive and ethical, or rather, they are devoted to whatever ethics they choose, considering Ann Coulter is a Sag.

Sagittarians are lovers of travel and excel in any position that requires ongoing education or allows them some freedom to speak their truth.

Editing, writing, marketing, public relations, entertainment and military are all careers reported by Sagittarians in the survey, and they fit the sign's characteristics extremely well.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

Capricorns are persistent, responsible and dogmatic. They're connected to the earth, both literally and figuratively, and they are practical people who pride themselves on never losing a level head.

Thriving in positions of power in which they can apply their common sense, Capricorns are also extremely caring, in a fatherly sort of way.

Capricorns reported working in art, design, architecture, nursing, farming and food preparation, which are all fitting to this zodiac.

But, now we know why they aren't exactly raking in the dough.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

Aquarians are natural inventors, unconventional thinkers who are ahead of their time.

They are extremely independent, yet have a deep connection to humankind as a whole, and their concerns have to do with humanity.

They're also naturally gifted with new technology, as it appeals to their inventive minds.

Jobs suited for these character traits include astronomy, photography, aviation and computer technology.

Aquarians who responded to the survey reported holding jobs in sales, military, engineering, mechanics, food preparation, facilities management and transportation.

One thing to note is that Aquarians are ruled by the planet of sudden change, so one reason why they might be making less could be a propensity for shifting career choices.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Pisces are the sign most prone to being martyrs.

They're empathetic sometimes to a fault, and they easily put others' needs ahead of their own, a quality that goes well with healing or compassionate professions like health care, social work or philanthropy.

Pisces in the survey are right on target, reporting careers such as as social work, personal care and facilities management.
