Why You Should No Longer Care About Being Normal

Why You Should No Longer Care About Being Normal
Motivation

People in today’s world are so worried about being considered normal. They just want to fit in as if this is high school again. Let us be the ones to tell you that that is the last thing you should ever want. Being normal doesn’t help you in any shape way or form in life.

It doesn’t make you socially accepted and all you are doing is being a follower of others rather than a leader. What many have forgotten is that what makes this world so unique is that we are all different in our very own ways. When you think about it, what is normal?

Normal is what everyone else is doing because they are copying someone else who is a trendsetter. These trends trickle down to the peasants who can’t think for themselves. You, on the other hand, can think for yourself- so stop worrying about being labeled as normal.

Think about it- if we all start doing the same things and wearing the same cloths, and talking exactly the same, we would all be robots. The world would dictate to us how we ought to live rather than us living life the way we want to. The last thing you should be doing is spending your energy on trying to be normal and fit in. Life will no longer be as interesting for you and you will basically be living the life of someone else.

“Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else.” ~Judy Garland,

Diversity is what this world is built on and it is what makes humanity so special. People love to be in your company when you are yourself and unique. When people are boring and stale that is because they are normal. Being normal is the worst thing you can do to yourself.

Don’t worry about being noticed or judged or criticized by others. There are two types of people in this world- ones that can think for themselves and live their own lives, and then the peasants that are too worried about fitting in because they think that life is a rerun of high school.

Here is why you should no longer care about being normal:

1. Insanity- to be normal is to be insane

A question you need to ask yourself is what kind of life do you plan on living. Are you going to question life and really challenge yourself or are you just going to fly underneath the radar and be considered normal?

Without questioning normal behavior, and without questioning what life is really about, you just stay stagnant your whole entire life. Normal is not something to aspire to- it’s something to get away from. You are insane if you are normal because you can’t think for yourself and refuse to create your own path in life.

2. Courage- It takes courage to be different

When will you understand that being normal isn’t necessarily a virtue? Rather, it denotes a lack of courage. It takes a whole lot of courage and balls to step out of the norm and be different. Not many question the status quo, but the ones that do are the ones that live a life full of purpose.

It takes courage to say no to the normal and to embrace your real essence- who you are deep down inside. Be yourself because normal is not you, it is what others are.

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” ~Dr. Seuss

3. Achievement – Nothing great was ever achieved by normal people

To be normal is the ideal aim of the unsuccessful. Greatness can only be achieved by those who let go of the label of being normal. Being a pedestrian and following what everyone else is doing is not going to get you to the top of the mountain that is life. On the contrary, it will actually keep you at rock bottom.

Step outside from the crowd and embrace your uniqueness and creativity. Look at anyone who is successful and you will be able to tell right off the bat they are not normal and, quite frankly, all a little bit weird. But that is what has gotten them to where they are.

“I sometimes ask myself how it came about that I was the one to develop the theory of relativity. The reason, I think, is that a NORMAL adult never stops to think about problems of space and time. These are things which he has thought about as a child.” ~Albert Einstein

4. Excitement –To be different is a real adventure

Normal people don’t have much fun since they are too busy doing the things normal people do, worrying about the many things normal people worry about, and stressing about the many things normal people stress about.

It’s so liberating to just be who you want to be and live your life according to your own rules and not the rules of other, without hurting anyone in the process of course. Do you really want to live your life constantly worrying about being judged by others and contemplating how they will view you and the things you do?

“Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.” ~Hellen Keller

5. Imagination- Uniqueness requires imagination

It is very easy to be normal and that is why so many people do it, it’s because they love taking the easy way out of things.

It takes great courage, skills and imagination to be different from the rest of the world and allow your journey be a path that no one else has taken. The world is thirsty for uniqueness; are you going to be the one that gives it to them?

“For me, insanity is super sanity. The normal is psychotic. Normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity.” ~Jean Dubuffet
