It takes a very special kind of person to make their life goal the notion of changing the world. Earth, in its vastness and complexity, can be changed if the right mindset is accomplished.
I have no doubt in my mind that one day it can happen for with every night that passes, the world we as we know it becomes a tad bit different.
Identify The Problem
What is it exactly that you want to change? Poverty, lack of resources, education, peace? All of these are noble pursuits but be sure to focus on a single goal.
After, its your mission to come up with an innovative & modern way to solve the issue. Don't rely on past methods for they clearly haven't worked. Information is literally at our fingertips in the 21st century. Be wise and use it to your advantage. Make sure your plan is understandable, reliable and that it appeals to the masses.
Jason Russel, the creator of KONY 2012, had was in charge of one of the most inspiring movements of recent memory when we wasn't masturbating in public. He used social media to his advantage & made the majority of the people truly care for a topic that is foreign in thought.
The sooner you realize that you aren't a superhero, the easier working together becomes. Nobody, as much as they would love to deny, has ever achieved anything substantial by himself/herself. Even the smallest tasks require some sort of help.
Surround yourself with people with not necessarily the same idea but rather the same passion. A variety of opinions can bring upon different ideas and a multitude of angles for the same problem. Build your team wisely. Afterwards eat, breathe, and shit your objective.
It would be foolish of you to think that causing one change would only result in one outcome. Very rarely are the ways of life linear. Everything eventually connects. Realizing this is key.
Understanding this complex system gives you leverage over the mundane. Although it does increase difficulty of the task ahead, it also increases how many people can benefit from your change.
Don't be afraid of the answer or of the possible future. Going against conventional wisdom is just another obstacle that has to be conquered. People are set in their ways & in the way they process the world. Why do you think Galileo got so much shit for proving the world wrong?
Nevertheless, regardless of being excommunicated and outcasted, his theories of the universe were correct, which is the vital aspect in changing the world.
The late Tupac Shakur had the right mindset in saying that he, himself, wont be able to change the world, rather he would inspire someone that would. You want your change to be impacting and long lasting.
The world needs a society of innovative and thought bending thinkers. Inspire them to follow in your footsteps and to one day, carry on your mission.
