7 Types Of People You Should Cut From Your Life In The New Year
The new year is all about New Year's resolutions and becoming a better version of yourself.
With all the drama and multiple songs and memes complaining about how terrible 2016 was, it comes as no surprise that people are already considering ways to make 2017 a much better year.
Your friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances will follow you into the new year. However, there are some people who just should not be in your life for another minute.
To make your new year more positive, pay attention to the seven types of people you should distance yourself from in 2017:
1. The “I'll Hang Out With You Unless There's a Better Option” Friend
I hate these types of people. If you have the best plans for the night, then they will be your best friends. However, if something better comes up, they have no problem going to that event and leaving you in the dust.
It's rude and it's trashy. It's that person who should not make the cut in 2017.
We all know people like this, and just how annoying this gimmick can be.
2. The Toxic Significant Other
Hopefully, not everyone has to deal with this problem. But sometimes, you have a significant other who is just the worst.
Maybe all your family and friends hate this person. Maybe it's just a lot of on-again, off-again fighting.
It doesn't mean you're necessarily bad people; it just means you two may not be the best together.
Take some distance and clear your head in 2017 to figure out if it's really worth it.
3. The Boy Who Thinks Everyone Is Into Him
Ugh! That's my first thought when I think about this guy.
It's the guy you can text about a math problem and get a response saying how he can tell you are obviously trying to date him.
No. This type of guy has an ego through the roof and his head up his ass. Do more than distance yourself from this guy: Run the other direction.
This guy is one of the most annoying people on the list.
4. The Friend Who Always Gets You In Trouble
Sometimes we have friends who – no matter what the circumstances are – always end up in some kind of sticky situation whenever they're around. By extension, they get you in trouble too.
They could be great friends. But somehow, being around them always seems like an episode of “That's So Raven” gone terribly wrong.
Maybe you can still be friends with this person, but try to distance yourself from the sticky situations.
5. The Debbie Downer
Debbie Downers are the kinds of people who always have something to complain about. They are always whining, and never pleased with the way life is going for them.
They talk your ear off about how bad everything they do is, and ruin a lot of the activities you do with them due to their incessant complaining.
This just kills your mood and makes you more negative. So, back away and focus more on positivity.
6. The User
This is the person who only talks to you when he or she needs something. This the friend who, when YOU need something, is always busy.
Users often want your help by asking to borrow things, having you introduce them to people or having you explain to them exactly how you got a specific position or award that they want.
Users are ultimately mean people, and they really don't care that much about you at the end of the day. Distance yourself immediately.
7. The Person Who Thinks He Or She Is Better Than You
This should be a given, but anyone who thinks he or she is better than you has got to go. This kind of friend is such a negative entity in your life.
These people take a toll on your self-esteem, mental psyche and overall positivity. If you distance yourself from anyone this year, make sure it's the people who think you're below them.
