5 Reasons Your Hard Work Is Showing No Monetary Reward

by Timothy Sykes

Being financially comfortable is a dream many have, but only few ever achieve. If you are one of the many people who has dreamed of getting rich, but never quite achieved your goal, then there can be a number of things holding you back.

Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the obstacles that stand in their way and the hurdles preventing them from having the life and the money they always wanted.

Here are five things that just may be holding you back from getting rich:

Your Strategy

For many people, one of the biggest obstacles to their financial wealth lies in their strategy. If you are not getting rich, then chances are, you are not taking the right approach.

The best 9-to-5 workers can be great at their jobs, but never go anywhere, because their strategy is simply to find a traditional job at a traditional company and stay on the track laid out before them.

Many times, getting rich involves a far different strategy, one that involves thinking outside the box in terms of ways to make money and further your career. You need to start a business and work your rear end off to make it successful. Make a plan and take action.

Your Mentor

A mentor can be your key to finding success much faster than if you didn’t have one. When working with a mentor, make sure you choose someone who has the life and the money you want.

Simply choosing your superior at work or someone who is a friend is not enough. A mentor needs to not only inspire you, but act as a role model for your future success.

Not Following The Rules

Many times, even with the right strategy and the right mentor, things can go awry. Your mentor and your strategy can help, but if you don’t follow the rules for getting rich, then you won’t find the financial success you have been looking for.

Read about the habits of successful people and learn the rules in books, such as "Think and Grow Rich," and follow them.

Letting Life Get In the Way

If you let life get in the way of your success, then you will never meet your financial goals. If you want to get rich, you need to be prepared to sacrifice everything you have for that success.

Life, friendships and responsibilities can sometimes get in your way, and while there are times when these need to be a priority, if you let the details of everyday life get in the way your dreams, you will never reach your full potential.

There are times when your personal life needs to be sacrificed in order to reach your professional and financial goals. You must be willing to sacrifice to move up.

Not Dreaming Big Enough

If your dreams aren’t big enough to scare you, then chances are you’re not dreaming big enough. Don’t set goals you think are easy to obtain; set goals that will challenge you and make you work.

Setting a big goal can only lead to an even bigger result. Keep this in mind when you make goals for yourself, and once you reach one big goal, make an even bigger second goal for yourself the next time.
