5 Reasons The CMAs Can Turn Anyone Into A Country Music Lover

by Melyssa Granat

This year, Christmas came early in the form of ballads and love songs sung by some of America’s finest.

Last night was The 49th Annual Country Music Awards, one of the hottest nights in music.

Maybe there was no twerking Miley Cyrus or Nicki Minaj lap dancing on Lil Wayne, but seeing Luke Bryan flash just one smile tops it all for me.

The amazing thing about the CMAs is there's not just one performance I look forward to.

In fact, I hold my breath for every performance (with an extra loss of breath for my any Sam Hunt spotting).

Between the hosts, comedy, guests, performances and the sweetest acceptance speeches on television, it was extremely hard to choose just five reasons why watching the CMAs can turn any girl into a country-lovin', cowboy chasin', All-American sweetheart:

1. The hottest guys.

This one's kind of self-explanatory.

I mean, have you looked at those boys lately?

There's Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, Chase Rice, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban and so many more.

The men of country music look so good, you'll watch the awards show even if you hate songs about beers, pickup trucks and girls in short shorts and cowboy boots.

2. Lyrics that make people want to fall in love.

If you're able to get your jaw up from the floor after staring at the hotties, then you'll be happy to know the lyrics to their music are equally as amazing.

The words they sing could turn anybody into a hopeless romantic.

They may even be so beautiful that you shed a tear, and I'm speaking from personal experience here.

For example, in "Mean To Me," Brett Eldredge coos, "If mine could be the name that changes yours, the wine in your glass, the swing on your porch, the dollar in your pocket, and the peaceful in your sleep, then I'd be what you mean to me."

Come on, who wouldn't want a man to say that to them?

3. Wait, the women are hot too?

Yes, you heard right.

The women are just about as sexy as their male counterparts.

Sure, JLo and Selena Gomez aren't there, but country singers like Carrie Underwood to Jana Kramer things are certainly heating things up.

I mean, who can think of anything else when Carrie steps on the stage with those tan, toned legs for days?

So boys, pay attention to this part: While your girl is drooling over Blake Shelton, you have every right to check out Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler.

4. Award shows are a great excuse for a girls' night in or a fun cocktail party.

Awards shows are best enjoyed with friends and the CMAs are no exception.

You and your girls can sit around and shriek over those hot country men or you can pull your boyfriend into the bathroom for a steamy make-out after Luke Bryan finishes singing "Strip It Down."

So grab a 36-pack or a bottle of wine and get the party started.

Before you know it, you'll be belting out the lyrics to "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)."

5. Motivation and inspiration: This show has both.

Everything from the music to the on-screen love between real life country couples inspires us to find true love and motivates us not to settle for anything less than butterflies.

As cheesy as it sounds, country music helps us feel the love, but the hot country singers make it hard to ignore feelings of lust.

If you missed the CMAs last night, take to YouTube and have a field day.

If the songs don't make you fall in love at first, I suggest you watch the music video because, trust me, you won't survive those without feeling some rush of emotions.

So CMAs, thank you for another wonderful awards show. And Luke Bryan, thank you for just being you. #Lukestush.
