10 Lyrics From 'Views' That Will Literally Bring You To Tears

by evelyn atieno

It's that time of the year again: Drake season. For the past couple of months, we have all been waiting for Views, occasionally being misled with false release dates. Luckily, Drake has been warming us up with songs such as “Summer Sixteen” and his collaboration with Future on “What A Time To Be Alive.” The 6 God is always full of surprises, and I am always here waiting for them (even at midnight).

Today, he finally released Views, and I spent the whole early morning crying while it played. To say the very least, Views is an emotional masterpiece.

Here are the top lyrics that kept bringing me to tears:

1. From "Redemption"

Who gonna save me when I need saving?

When I heard this line, I had the sudden urge to text this guy I've been thinking of lately. Damn you, Drake. You know that's a bad idea.

2. From "Controlla"

I made plans with you, and I won't let them fall through. I think I lie for you, I think I die for you, Jodeci 'Cry For You.'

OK, at that moment, I honestly cried really hard because I need a guy like Drake. I need a guy willing to do all these things because he wants to, not because he has to.

3. From "One Dance"

I don't wanna spend time fighting. We've got no time.

Yes, Drake! Let's not fight; let's just enjoy our time together. A lot of couples spend more time fighting than enjoying each other's company, and that in and of itself just makes me want to cry.

4. From "Child's Play"

Why you gotta fight with me at Cheesecake? You know I love to go there.

Now, this made me cry actual tears. Cheesecake Factory is no joke. I mean, that place is worth every dollar. Hearing this lyric gave me an urge to actually argue at Cheesecake Factory with my non-existent partner.

5. From "Too Good"

I don't know how to talk to you. I don't know how to ask you if you're OK.

I'm not OK, Drake. Your music has me crying. God, why don't you get it?

6.  From "Summer Over Interlude"

I don't feel the same, anywhere I go.

This was a short song, but it gave me all the feels. Everyone knows what it's like when your crush doesn't feel the same way as you do.

7. From "Hotline Bling"

You used to call me on my cell phone, late night when you need my love.

This song is still extremely relevant, and it's usually the chorus that makes me want to cry. Reliving past relationships usually makes us all feel a ping of sadness and want to breakdown.

8. From "Keep The Family Close"

I always saw you for what you could have been.

Seriously, seeing potential in people is the greatest pain of all because many times, they don't live up to it. We stick around in hopeless relationships because we see "potential." At some point in time, we have to realize that potential is different from reality.

9. From "9"

Life is always on, man, I never get it break from it.

Yes, Drake, I feel you. Being an adult sucks, and I know this feeling all too well. Right now, the semester is almost over, and I have a ton of papers I have to write and quizzes I have to study for. Drake is right; life is always on. We can't decide to take a break from it.

10. From "U With Me"

I want to know how much time you spend on those paragraphs where you get at me.

Every girl can relate to this line. When you send a novel, a guy will respond back and say, "I don't get it." This is one of life's most frustrating moments. I mean, I wrote you a whole paragraph. What don't you understand? That just makes me break down in tears.

Thanks, Drake, for another heartbreaking, yet amazing album.
